Being raised in Roswell, GA, Ty's parents instilled the importance of God's word. As his salvation in Jesus and responsibility to give back grew, his desire to make a difference in people's lives grew as well.
As a college football player for The University of Alabama at Birmingham, Ty had opportunities to work with with special needs children in the surrounding Birmingham areas. Ty began exploring the opportunities these young people had to enjoy the game of football and soon realized these opportunities were limited. Ty knew that once given the chance, he would be the one to develop a program for these children to enjoy his favorite game.
After two successful years in the Canadian Football League, Ty was picked up by the Los Angeles Chargers. Immediately, Ty knew this was his shot to give back.

We are disappointed to announce that our 2nd Annual Ty Long Special Needs Camp will be postponed due to the COVID-19 virus rapidly spreading. We will continue to diligently work on a new date as this epidemic works itself out. We can't wait to see you soon!
